According to the Canadian Press on Tuesday, Canadian Olympic silver medalist Dominique Maltais of Petite-Riviere-Saint-Francois, Quebec has won the 2013-14 World Cup standings in women's snowboard cross after winning a World Cup race in Veysonnaz, Switzerland.

Maltais won the gold medal Tuesday by defeating silver medalist Nelly Moenne Loccoz of France and bronze medalist Alexandra Jekova of Bulgaria.

Maltais finished the year with 4400 World Cup points. American Lindsey Jacobellis was second with 2960 points and reigning Olympic gold medalist Eva Samkova of the Czech Republic was third with 2430 points.

Maltais has now won four consecutive World Cup titles, or as they call it in the winter sports world, the Crystal Globe.

Maltais won the bronze medal in women's snowboard cross at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin and the silver medal at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.

In an interview with Maltais in January, she confirmed to that the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi would be her last Olympics.
