According to UPI, Sang Ho Kim, 63, fired shots in an office building near Roosevelt Field Mall which is in East Garden City in New York on Wednesday. Kim, a contractor, killed one employee and severely injured his boss. A manhunt has ensued for Kim.
Kim, of Queens, is allegedly escaped the scene in a white Honda Pilot with New York license plate number FMA 3648.
Kim is reportedly described as a disgruntled contractor who had been working for Savenergy – a lighting company – as a vendor.
According to Nassau County Police Chief Steven Skrynecki, it is believed that Kim is armed and very dangerous. He also stated that it appears that Kim has targeted his business associates over a bad business deal. Specifically, Skrynecki asserted that there was some disgruntlement between him and the company that he was attacking on Wednesday.
Previously, Nassau County Community College and Hofstra University were put on lockdown due to the incident, but they are no longer. However, no one has yet been allowed to enter the mall. Police say that they are confident that he is no longer in the immediate area.
