Mall of America is the biggest mall in the United States and at midnight had one of the largest openings of any Black Friday in the history of the Mall. At midnight Thursday over 15,000 people entered the mall to start shopping. In what is expected to be a very busy place with thousands of people shopping over the long Thanksgiving weekend, there will be deals everywhere.
At 10 a.m. local time theMall of America had seen 81,000 guests walk through the doors of the shopping center and plans to break the record set last year of 200,000 visitors. The thousands of shoppers are lured to the shopping center by deals and delightful contests to bring home discounted merchandise. Leaving the sleep for the tired, the thousands filled the parking structures and came to find the deals.
At 4.2 million square feet, Mall of America is home to more than 520 shops. With three levels that includes Nickelodeon Universe, the nation's largest indoor family amusement park this isn’t a typical mall. Underneath the mall is Sea Live Minnesota Aquarium, a 1.2 million gallon walk-through aquarium.
The Mall of America opened in August of 1992 and is located in Bloomington, just minutes from downtown Minneapolis. Considered a shopping paradise, the mall is one of the biggest in the world.
