Malia Obama is dating. Watch out, Mr. President! On Feb. 16, NewsOxy reported that Malia is starting to show a romantic interest in boys. The 14-year-old has undoubtedly grown up over the past four years and the time has come for her to explore the world of the opposite sex. Barack Obama -- the cool dad that he seems to be -- may not be ready for the crazy teenage years, but he's hopeful that he and Michelle did a good job at setting an example of real love for his two girls.
"The great thing about the girls is they’ve got a wonderful role model in their mom. They’ve seen how Michelle and I interact — not only the love but also respect that I show to their mom. So I think they have pretty high expectations about how relationships should be, and that gives me some confidence about the future (sic)," Obama recently said.
Malia Obama isn't dating any one specifically that the public knows about, so no, she doesn't have a "boyfriend" that will attending the Easter Egg Roll at the White House this year. However, Malia likely talks to boys outside of school and what have you, and her parents are okay with that, at least, they seem to be.
Malia and her younger sister, Sasha, 11, both seem like good girls. While the secret service might be forced upon the girls whilst they're out on their dates, their parents try to give them very normal lives. They are allowed to go the mall or to the movies with their friends... and dating is just part of the growing-up process.
Malia Obama dating won't be something that the media will be able to cover closely, however. According to NewsOxy, "the unwritten rule guiding news coverage of the girls still stands." The girls might be getting older, but their mom and dad still can protect them in many ways.
