Kristen Bauer Von Stratten returning, presumably as her character Maleficent. Now that “True Blood” has ended its seven year run, the actress has been signed on for upcoming episodes. Fans have speculated this means more backstory for Aurora (Sarah Bolger) and Maleficent. No word on how many episodes she is signed on for or when they will air.
Maleficent was last seen in Season One as a dragon, slayed by Emma to retrieve Rumplestiltskin’s (Robert Carlyle) potion, and then again as a strange zombie creature slayed by Killian Jones near the end of Season Two.
The story arc will appear in the second half of Season Four, indicating Maleficent will be the Season’s big villian after the Frozen arc runs its course.
In other spoiler news, Scott Michael Foster discusses his character Kristoff adjusting to Palace life, as the “Frozen” arc takes place directly after the beloved Disney movie ends. Kristoff is described as a rugged Mountain man who lived with trolls, so the decadence of Palace life takes some getting used to.
Kristoff is up to the challenge, reports Foster, as “Anna is the apple of his eye” and true love is always worth sacrificing.
More spoilers have been coming in for Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) and Belle(Emilie de Ravin), as hints have been dropped for a storyline including Belle’s mother. This comes on the heels of the show-stopping wedding that finished off Season Three. 'Rumbelle' fans do know that Rumplestiltskin is hiding his secret of the dagger from Belle, and producers have hinted this will turn into trouble for the favorite couple. As for Belle's mother, speculation has Lucy Lawless or Elizabeth Mitchell possibly up for the role, with the promise for perhaps more backstory on Belle.
“Once Upon a Time” returns September 28th, 2014 at 8 pm on ABC.
