According to the Huffington Post today a new military report published in the German Medical Science journal has been released with interesting findings, putting a spin on "man boobs". Or shall we say "man boob"? It found that dozens of soldiers in the Wachbataillon unit have developed left breasts, a condition called one-sided gynecomastia. One left breast you ask?
It is suggested the soldiers in the Wachbataillon unit have developed this condition because the rifle drills they performed stimulate their male mammary glands. According the Huffington Post, Professor Bjorn Krapohl, the director of plastic surgery at the military hospital in Berlin, said this left breast is developed likely due to the repeated slapping of the soldiers' rifles on the left side of their chests during drills. This in effect stimulates the glands to produce hormones, which forms the one-sided-left-breast.
At least 35 soldiers have developed this one-sided gynecomastia, which has alerted German military officials to consider changing the way in which the rifle drills are carried out. These findings will indubitably keep the soldiers abreast of the situation as to avoid further development of breasts.
