Maksim Chmerkovskiy is used to getting his own way. When it comes to his celebrity dancing partner on "Dancing with the Stars," Olympic gold medalist Meryl Davis, Maksim is vowing to do all he can to keep her. As reported by OK! Magazine on Wednesday, March 26, he has even threatened to sabotage the show if he's forced to give her up.
The producers of the show are promising viewers the chance to switch up partners during one week of the competition. As expected, Maksim had no qualms about letting everyone know what he thinks of the idea.
“I hate the switch up idea. I don’t want to dance with anybody else. I might start crying and throw a fit. But, yeah, we’ll sabotage the show somehow. I’ll think of something. I’m not letting her (Meryl) go," he told reporters after Monday night’s show.
He explained that Meryl is a great partner, so great in fact that he feels he has "never had a partnership like this."
Maksim seems to hold a lot of sway over the show's producers so perhaps they won't take the chance of angering him. After being away from 'Dancing with the Stars' for two seasons, Maksim told TODAY in early March that he actually had the option to return as a judge.
“I had that option. I can’t reveal a lot, but I was offered a judge's position on the show. This was my decision (to return as a pro)," he said.
