Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Meryl Davis are setting the dance floor on fire this season on “Dancing With the Stars.” Up next for the two is the rumba, and on Wednesday the show gave a bit of a tease via Instagram about how the duo will go “all the way” with this one. Just how sizzling hot will this performance be?
The post by the show on Instagram teases, “Oh the things #TeamMeryl will do for their performance.” The short clip shows Meryl slapping Maksim across the face. Maks says just before the slap, “This is art, and it needs to happen.” Maks shared the video via his Twitter page as well, noting that “To go all the way one must GO ALL THE WAY! @Meryl_Davis is ready ;)).”
Maksim and Meryl have been considered front-runners this season since day one, and little has transpired to knock them out of that position. However, the expectations are high and the pressure is on the both of them. In addition to doing the rumba this week, Meryl and Maks will have to tackle what is being dubbed the “duo dance.” What is that all about?
PureDWTS shared the scoop available so far. Each pair will be partnered with another pair to do a dance. At one point during the performance, the two celebrities will need to dance with one another rather than their partners. Apparently Meryl and Maksim will dance with Val and Danica. However, sources for PureDWTS say that the ladies will not have to dance in hold at all. Whether that means they get to bend the rules a bit, or they have a style like contemporary or jazz that allows for a bit more flexibility, isn't known quite yet.
While the relationship between Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Meryl Davis seems to be progressing quite nicely, there are a lot of fans hoping that things are transitioning into a romance. Of course fans wish that about many pairs every season, but that doesn't always mean it actually happens. Some “DWTS” fans feel certain that Maksim and Meryl are dating, while others think they're keeping things professional.
Either way, Chmerkovskiy and Davis will be back on the dance floor with a couple of hot numbers on Monday, May 5. Can this duo make it all the way to the “Dancing With the Stars” finale this season? Some think they will, and it won't be long before viewers get to see for certain.
