"Dancing with the Stars" favorite, Maksim Chmerkovskiy announced Tuesday on "The View" that he would not be returning as a professional dancer on America's favorite dance show.

With a definitive "I'm done dancing," the pro dancer was clear on the morning talk show that he would not returning to the dance floor. He, however, may not be as completely removed from the show as the public may be thinking after this announcement.

"DWTS" producer, Rob Wade, said back in July that, "I'm absolutely hoping Maks comes back to the show. I don't know whether it's going to be as a dancer. I think there's a number of different things we can talk to him about and the way he'd be involved in the show. Maks will always be part of Dancing With the Stars in some way."

Chmerkovskiy did tell "The View's" Sherri Shepherd that although he "loved the experience" it "was not the same" when he returned after taking a short-lived break from the ABC's popular show.

So the dancer may have called it quits with teaching Hollywood's stars how to do the jive but it looks like he won't be entirely removing himself from the show that gained him success.

Chmerkovskiy's highlight of his "DWTS" career is when he and his partner, Olympian Meryl Davis, won season 18.

Fans of the show can look forward to the newest season set to air on Monday September 15, on ABC. I guess we'll just have to wait till then on what exactly the hunky professional's new role will be.
