The life-sized, robotic Gundam statue in Tokyo’s Odaiba opened to the public earlier this month. Just as interesting as the statue itself is the process that went into building it. Last month a short article was posted describing an ongoing Japanese documentary Green Tokyo Gundam Project: The making of Gundam -Real G- about the building of the Real G.
The documentary depicts the building of the statue from start to finish, with some amazing time-lapse photography at the end of each volume. Although the documentary is purely in Japanese, it is worth seeing visually. The total number of volumes in the series has yet to be announced, but it seems likely that the series is near finish.
