The Making Music series will continue this week with Low's Alan Sparhawk (also of Retribution Gospel Choir) and choreographer Morgan Thorson. Sparhawk, along with his wife and Low bandmate Mimi Parker, have been collaborating with Thorson on a contemporary dance piece, Heaven, which was commissioned by Minneapolis's Walker Art Center and will screen at the Walker March 4, 5 and 6.

Making Music, an ongoing artist discussion series, is hosted by local musician James Everest and presented by the Walker, Radio K, mnartists.org and the University of Minnesota's  Whole Music Club. According to the Whole, Making Music's conversations "weave around the idea of process on two levels: the process of growing up as an artist, and the creative process of making work. Focus is put on the individual’s own experience and development, and the people, art, and experiences that shaped that development."

Past Making Music guests include Haley Bonar, P.O.S., Andrew Bird, David Longstreth of Dirty Projectors, Lori Barbero of Babes in Toyland and Koalas, and Brother Ali.

Doors for the Making Music event are at 7:00 PM Thursday, February 25, and the discussion takes starts at 8:00 in the Walker's McGuire Theater. It's a free event, however tickets must be picked up at the lobby desk after 7:00 PM.
