Shane J. Lopez, PhD, author of Making Hope Happens, will speak from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11 at the Polsky Theatre on the Johnson County Community College campus in Overland Park, KS.
The event is free to attend, but a RSVP is appreciated. You may email the Polsky Series. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
According to Lopez:
- The message is clear: Hope matters. Hope is a choice. Hope can be learned and spread to others. How well we hope determines how well we live. Hope is the leading indicator of success in relationships, academics, career, and business — as well as of a healthier, happier life.
At the event, Lopez will reveal the results of his revolutionary research on the psychology of hope together with new findings from around the world.
Making Hope Happen is the first practical guide on how to create, use, and share hope.
Lopez is a Gallup senior scientist in residence and research director for the Clifton Strengths Institute. He is also a fellow of the American Psychological Association. A professor of education for a decade, he is now professor of business at the University of Kansas.
