The theme is the backbone of any event, and a baby shower is no different. Every mom-to-be has a unique personality that should be celebrated by choosing the right theme for her and her bundle of joy on the way. You can stick with the traditional themes that focus on how mom and dad are decorating the baby’s room, or you can take a different approach to make the baby shower really stand out. Dothan has some great stores that can help you with building your theme, such as Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and other various local specialty shops. Below are some really fantastic themes that I ran across while doing my research for this article.
1) Paris. Let’s face it, Paris is an awesomely versatile theme for any party. If your mom-to-be is having a girl, you can create a modern vintage look by using lots of pastels and Paris-themed decorations like Eiffel towers. Even if it’s a boy, you can use more blacks and whites and blues to create more of a masculine feel while keeping some femininity in the mix. Check out pictures of the possibilities within this theme here.
2) Woodland Creatures. They have been super popular this baby season, especially owls. Use lots of browns and greens with this theme. There are an endless amount of decoration and game ideas for this theme. You can use trees and creatures as centerpieces, picture corners, cake décor, and the list goes on.
3) “Some Bunny Loves Me.” If you are into spring, lots of floral, and friendly bunnies, then this theme could be perfect for you. It uses lots of pastels and greenery to create a very springy, very feminine atmosphere. Using cute little quotes as part of your décor really adds an extra dose of cuteness. Check out pics here.
4) “Let’s Feather Their Nest.” For this couples baby shower theme, use lots of ribbon and decorative feathers. The effect should be like a rainbow of colors and a celebration of the couple’s childhood. In addition to feathers, you can use childhood photos and mementos from the couple to decorate with. Here are some ideas.
5) “She’s Going to Pop!” This bubble-themed baby shower can have lots of fun with bubbles, from using polka dots as “bubbles” to passing out mini champagne bottles of “bubbly.” Check out all the bubbly goodness here.
6) Cirque de Bebe. I absolutely love this theme. It takes the circus, modernizes it, and makes it oh-so-chic. Use lots of animal prints and animal statuettes and mix them in with elegant looking circus-style décor. Check out some amazing pics here.
These are just some of the unique themes I found. There are a ton of other possibilities, and don’t forget that your theme can be as simple as a color combo, like pink and brown. That’s the great thing about parties and event planning; you never throw the same party twice because each person wants something different. Even if you repeat a theme, you customize it so that it fits each client.
