Some women are just naturally blessed with full voluptuous lips. Unfortunately, we all aren't so lucky to have lips like Angelina Jolie or Rihanna.
Yes, full lips are desired by many so we cannot help but feel inspired and try to “create” full lips for ourselves. It’s understandable wanting to create fuller lips by outlining outside of the lip line, but doing so actually creates a very unreal appearance and attention that is not so appealing.
Defining the lips is very important to make them stand out but there is a way to apply lip liner that creates an illusion of fuller lips without looking…shall it be said...clownish. Here’s how:
To Begin with: Moisture Moisture Moisture
Before applying any makeup to the lips always make sure the lips are exfoliated and well moisturized. The most efficient way to exfoliate is by gentle circular strokes with your toothbrush and a little Vaseline.
Secondly: All about the Color
Choose a lip liner one shade darker than your natural lip tone for natural lip colors or the exact same color of your lipstick. Maybelline has beautiful nude and natural lip liners that complement the natural lip tone.
Next: Line the Lips
The correct placement of lip liner should be on the actual edge (border) of the lips – neither inside nor outside of the lips. Applying the color right on the edge of the lips and filling in the entire lip will give an illusion of a fuller pout while still looking natural.
Lastly: Complete your lips
Finish with that perfect lipstick and/or lip gloss on the entire lip area for gorgeous kissers.
One last tip….Lighter lipstick colors and glosses with shimmer helps to make the lips appear fuller. Take your lips to the next level by adding a little highlighter, like Benefit’s High Beam or Moon Beam, right on the top of the cupids bow of the lips for the sexiest pout ever!
