Makeover Monday: Lower Body Barre

You know that you want fabulous looking legs when you hit the beach. You know those are not easily achieved. Worst yet you are a busy working girl who is short on time and needs to get the look between scheduling her next meeting and catching up with family and friends. Well no worries celeb fitness trainer and creator of BarreAmped Boot Camp DVD Suzanne Bowen has you covered; follow her workout below and your legs will be toned and booty lifted in no time.

Start by warming up with a 5 minute walk. Then grab a chair to hold for balance.
Complete this sequence one to three times depending on your level of fitness. In between each sequence do one minute of stretching on both sides.

Bring both feet under hips in a parallel distance position. Raise heels and bend knees keeping shoulders over hips and hips over heels. Lower down so that you feel the tops of the thighs. Contract your lower abs and hold for one minute.

From the parallel position, take one leg back and rock entire torso over a soft standing leg on four counts. Do this for one minute then switch sides.

Standing Seat Work
From the parallel position bring one leg back and behind the hip. Keep core strong and back stable by contracting your abs and standing with a slight curve to the lower back. Lift leg without letting while keeping your back stable. Do this for one minute then switch sides.

Wide Second
Step out into a wide plié and keep your knees in line with your feet. Raise heels keeping the weight in the big and second toes. Bend knees and lower down keeping your head in line with your spine and lower back neutral. Lower down and up a few inches for two minutes.
