If your front entry to your home is less than special, there are a number of things you can do to make it more inviting and say “welcome” to your guests.
1. Paint your door a bright, cheery color. This is a sure-fire and attractive way to say “front door” without doing anything else.
2. Add colorful potted plants. A lot of people probably already do this, but fail when it comes to changing out annuals with the season. The easiest way to get around the need to buy plants for each time of the year is to plant perennials. Even shrubs will work in pots. Just pick a species that is naturally small in stature.
3. Add an arbor or arch. Arches have been used for centuries to invite people to walk through them. If you place an arch either at the entry itself, or at the walkway that leads to your front door, visitors will already be thinking “this is directing me to walk this way”.
