If Berlin is on your itinerary this year and you're wondering what to do while visiting the German capital, then look no further.

The Long Nights festivities scheduled all year long will allow visitors to check out Berlin's cultural activities. Whether it´s fashion, film, art, or music, visitors will find something of interest during their visit to Berlin.

14th Long Night of Sciences
Starting at 5:00pm and lasting until midnight, the "brightest night of the year" event will have more than 60 scientific institutions in Berlin and Potsdam participating. These institutions will allow access to their laboratories, archives and lecture halls to the public. Scientists will show off their experiments and answer questions from visitors.

34th Long Night of Museums
On May 17, 2014 Berlin's museums will join together for the first time with local castles and memorials to provide one big festival event. The weekend event will include some 100 museums and cultural institutions from around Berlin providing music, theater culinary arts. 10th Gallery Weekend Berlin
The three-day event will feature some 50 of Berlin's most significant galleries to the public. Art lovers, gallery owners, artists, collectors and visitors can attend the gallery openings, guided tours and other events. May 2-4, 2014, www.gallery-weekend-berlin.de

8th Berlin Biennale
The 8th Berlin Biennale will bring together a range of local and international artistic positions that examine the artistic developments and visions from within the city's art scene. The study for the Biennale is based on three methods toward the city's relationship to the environment, its relationship to citizenship, and its relationship to labor. Berlin Fashion Week
Two times a year, in winter and summer, Berlin turns itself into an international hotspot for fashion and lifestyle. Berlin Fashion Week features catwalks, off-site events and trade shows. Fashion lovers, purchasers, industry experts and the media come together to take in the fashion shows, awards ceremonies and special off-site events. The former Tempelhof Airport turns into an avant-garde catwalk with the BREAD & BUTTER international fair featuring street and urban wear. This is the first time that the show will open its doors to the public for two days on Friday and Saturday July 11 and 12, 2014. Berlin Pride Week Berlin will be radiant with color when the local LGBT community and visitors from around the world come to celebrate Pride and Equality during Berlin Pride Week. The 22nd Lesbian and Gay Street Festival will kick-off June 14th thru the 15th, 2014 and conclude with Berlin’s Christopher Street Day Parade on June 21, 2014. Berlin Music Week
From September 3rd thru the 7th, 2014, Berlin will have center stage when it features Berlin Music Week. The week-long event brings the music community and artists together for coaching and learning opportunities. The public is invited to a great concert and music festival. Among Berlin Music Week events is the Berlin Festival, held within the hangars and airfield of the historic Berlin Tempelhof Airport. Rounding out the event is the Berlin Club Night, featuring some 60 participating area clubs inviting visitors to Berlin’s legendary nightlife.

Berlin Art Week

Berlin Art Week will be going on again this year from September 16 thru September 21, 2014. It's an important event for Berliners showcasing the importance of the city as an international art metropolis. Berlin Art Week will feature various art shows throughout the city, presenting the latest art trends and new artists. Trade fairs such as abc art berlin contemporary and the Preview Berlin Art Fair are essantial elements of Berlin Art Week. More information is available at www.berlinartweek.de.
