If you would like to make some extra cash and you posses a bit of crafty talent you can rake in a nice little bundle of money selling Halloween trick-or-treat bags!

Who can you sell your trick-or-treat bags to? Anyone! Sell them to your friends so they don't have to make their own trick-or-treat bags. Sell them to local shops so they can resell them to their customers. Sell them online on sites like eBay. Many people will be happy to buy pre-made bags.  It saves them time and money!

You need to plan early to make your Halloween bags. In fact, you should start buying items for next year's Halloween bags the day after Halloween! Many Halloween items such as decorative stickers, plastic toys, colorful bags, etc., will be marked down as much as 75% off. Stock up on anything that is non-perishable and save it for next year!

You don't have to spend a lot to make your bags fancy. Buy some brown paper lunch bags to put the Halloween treats in. Cut off the top of the bags to make them a bit shorter. You can use pinking shears or other decorative scissors to give the top of the bag a fancy look. Or you can cut slits all along the top of the bag to make a fringed top!

Use markers, rubber stamps or stickers to decorate the bags. You can even embellish the bags with construction paper cut outs. Also look around at the dollar stores for orange or black ribbon that you can use to tie off the tops of the bags. Can't find any cheap ribbon? Use yarn!

If you buy candy to put in the Halloween Trick or Treat bags you need to make sure it's fresh. But you can start looking around several months before Halloween and just check the expiration dates. You do not have to buy the typical Halloween candy because your candy will be in the decorative bag. So save money by buying large bags of every day candy.

Also consider making candy-free trick-or-treat bags.  Fill the bags with things like stickers, pencils, little plastic toys, stick-on tattoos, etc. Just look around all year for really cheap items and stock up when you find things on sale!

Make some bags during the summer and go around to local shops and to all your friends and take orders. And get them to prepay! Then you will know exactly how many bags you need to make. Have fun with this holiday business and get ready to do it every year!
