Saying 'goodbye' to summer definitely requires a three day weekend, and Atlanta is bursting with things to do. Labor Day is not exactly the sexiest holiday, but there are still plenty of fun, exciting things to do that will make you want to snuggle up with your date.
Drive Invasion at Starlight Six Drive-In Theater~ If you're partial to all things retro (I am), then 
grab your favorite 1950's style rockabilly outfit, throw your hair into a pompadour or beehive, and head down to Moorland Ave. to the Starlight Drive-In Theater. On Sunday, the theater will boast 2 stages, 5 movies, and 11 bands, including one-time Elvis girlfriend and rockabilly legend Wanda Jackson. Starting at 11a.m. there will be barbecue, music, and "the south's largest pre-64 Hot Rod show", then when it gets dark, you can cuddle up to your special one in the privacy of your car for some weird, B-movie, "films that are so bad, they're great", like ' Zardoz' and 'Shanty Tramp'.
Dragon*Con~ I know what you're thinking: Why would I go on a date to a nerd convention? Answer: Because it's awesomely fun, that's why! There is so much to do and see, you and your date will have stories to reminisce about for years. There are tons of guests on the list this year, like Tracy Lords, Penthouse model and star of dozens of hardcore porn movies; and Charlaine Harris, writer of the Sookie Stackhouse novels that have been converted into the sexy HBO series, True Blood.
There is also performance art like Big City Burlesque, a sexy dancing and singing group straight out of the Vaudeville era. And if you like your women or men looking like they just stepped out of a fantasy novel, then go see the array of fashion contests Dragon*Con holds: The Cosplay Contest (Cos=costume, Play=play...well, duh), The Dawn Look-Alike Contest (Dawn is a beautiful busty redhead who fights crime and wears little doing it!), The Miss Klingon Empire Beauty Contest (Recognized as one of AOL's "Top 11 Offbeat Beauty Contests"), and Mr. Star Wars 2009 (For all those Han Solo loving girls out there). Also, there is an amazing amount of half-naked girl running around all day, everyday.
Benifit: Beer and Whiskey Fest~ Now here's a place to find out if you really like someone (or actually dislike them), either way a fun time will be had by all. The fifth annual Bear and Whiskey Fest will feature four whiskeys and four beers, including Bulleit Bourbon, Crown Royal, George Dickel No. 12 and Bushmills, along with Red Stripe, Harp, Guinness and Smithwick's. While you're drinking and eating barbecue, enjoy the tribute bands that will be playing all day: Thundersnake (Whitesnake), El Scorcho (Wheezer), Behind the Sun (Red Hot Chile Peppers), and Celebrating Queen (Queen). Go with someone special or mingle if your single, because this is all for a great cause: raising money for PAWS Atlanta animal shelter!
