Make Father's Day special: Tips from a therapist: By: Ask Jan

Father’s Day is a special day to honor dad. This is a great time to start a new tradition. You don’t have to spend a lot of money on Father’s Day; what is important is that the day is special. Check out a variety of activities for any budget below.

Take dad out to eat. Make reservation on line for brunch, lunch, or dinner. Locations include Downtown, Midtown, Buckhead, Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, Decatur, Roswell, Vinnings, and Dunwoody etc. Click below to make reservations.

Stay home and cook dad his favorite meal. Make the table look special and have the kids make home made cards or pictures. Involve the children in preparations if possible. After all it is their father.

Have a movie night at home with popcorn and the kids or go out to a movie. Click on the link below to find family friendly movies. Be sure to choose an age appropriate movie for your child.

Have a family game night. Children love this, play video games or board games. Make it special with dads favorite snacks. Let the children help with the snacks if old enough. The children could even make an invitation inviting dad to the special event.

Play a softball game in the back yard; don’t forget to grill out the hotdogs. It is not a ball game without hot dogs.
