Make an airy DIY metal side table using aluminum sheets and a wood top with a tutorial at A Beautiful Mess.

Make several to have a set of nesting tables.

Emma Chapman, co-author of A Beautiful Mess, was inspired by Jonathan Adler's Nixon cocktail table. She used lattice-patterned aluminum sheets cut to size and rolled into a tube. The ends were secured with embroidery thread. She then topped the tube with a wood round.

The tables were sprayed with brass paint.

The tables are light enough to be easily moved or stacked inside of each other.
