In past years it has become clear that weight is an important health issue.  Some people need to lose weight for their health but don't recognize it or they need to lose but the weight has gotten so far out of control it is just to big to do anything except accept that this is their lot in life. THAT IS A LIE! Start today making changes toward good health.

Learn how to calculate your BMI. To calculate your Body Mass Index click on the link add your height and weight and it will calculate your BMI. The higher your BMI, the higher your risk for certain diseases such as heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes.

Now take your waist measurement.  Measuring waist circumference helps screen for possible health risks that come with overweight and obesity.  If most fat is around your waist rather than at your hips you’re at a higher risk for the same diseases mentioned above. These risk go up with a waist size greater than 35 inches for women or 40 inches for men. To measure stand and place a tape measure around your middle just above your hipbones.

Next MOVE!  Put down the remote, turn off the computer, take a break from the cell phone and turn on some music and MOVE.  People have gotten so lazy they don’t want to walk to the bathroom.  Don't approach movement with exercise.  Don't try and exercise like a fitness trainer. Take baby steps! Ride your bike around the block, take a walk down the street, do a dance to your favorite beat, just move for FIVE minutes today!

While you are moving on the outside, things will get better on the inside. Heart health, colon health are increase with movement. You are responsible for your health be pro-active and not re-active to it, the life you save may be your own.
