Cat lovers of all ages overwhelmingly elect to be a cat on Halloween. Cat costumes come in a large range of design and detail. However, a cat is a cat and any and all cats are beautiful.
A very basic costume that has been around for years is made from felt, gloves, and a ski mask, crystal gems, a belt, cloth, Velcro, leotards and tights. These costumes are very inexpensive and can be used year round as separates if you s choose
The first step is to draw an egg-shaped shape onto white felt large enough to cover up the front of your leotard. Cut out and “Velcro” it to the front of the leotard.
Roll a 6- by 24 inch black cloth into a pipe and sew the top flap down Sew ends together. Sew to back of leotard for the cat’s tail
Draw kitty ears onto black felt with fabric marker and then cut them out carefully.
Draw and cut out a slighter set of ears from pink felt and the pink ears in the center of the black ears.
Glue the ears to ski mask. Use a mirror to get them in the right position for your head...
Cut belt down so it fits as a chocker around your neck.
Attach crystal gems at even distances around the belt. You guessed it; the belt has become a collar.
Chop off the tips of each finger of the gloves and then fasten on artificial fingernails.
Sport the gloves with nails jutting out from fingers to mimic a cat's claws.
You can also buy tail and ear accessories at Halloween Stores or most major chain outlets.
If you are modest, try using a black sweat suit rather than the leotards and tights.
