New Year's resolution time is looming! The next few articles from your resident online dating coach will focus on simple options for enhancing your dating life in 2010.

Resolution #2: Go Out and Get It!

The more active you are in your dating life, the more fun and success you'll have.  The adage "You'll find it when you're not looking" is sometimes true, but not always.  If you don't put yourself out there, your chance of finding the one, a fun date or even a fling are greatly minimized.  Below are some tips with the busy New Yorker in mind!

• Date Online.  It's efficient and a great way to meet new people that wouldn't otherwise cross your path.  If you're already online, update your profile.
• Keep Your Profile Active.  Log on at least every 48 hours so that your profile stays active.  We wouldn't want you to miss out on fantastic matches just because they notice you haven't logged on in a while, now would we?
• Use iPhone Apps.  There are some great GPS locater apps like Skout.that can help strike up a conversation quickly with a lucky catch nearby. Almost every dating site also has an app so you can check your email and comb your matches on the go.
• Social Networking.  Make sure that you are connected on FaceBook, LinkedIn, Twitter and the like.  You can use these sites to contact new matches and gain the interest of your friends' single pals.  Thread even helps the process along!
