It is almost beyond belief to see the meager excuses one uses for sanctioning abortions. Seemingly the best excuse they have come up with is that of the mother's health, or even her life. However, the woman's health is such an infinitesimal bit of the reasons put forth, if that were the only one, the abortion rate would drop below 1% of what it is now. A former U.S. Surgeon General once stated that, in his extensive medical career, he had never known of any case where an abortion was needed for the preservation of the mother's health or life.
In fact, the chances of a woman dying or her health being impaired is greater in the performance of an abortion than from normal childbirth. Even this seemingly valid excuse does not have a lot of merit except in very rare cases. In most cases, there is no valid reason for a person to risk their life to dispose of the child. In some cases there are no doubt hardship ramifications, yet abortion is not normally the only possible resolution and in many cases it resolves nothing.
The apostle Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, makes some remarks which depicts those who choose to abort a fetus rather than give birth to it and raise it with care and affection. Read these remarks carefully and you can see the condemnation of abortions as well as other unnatural sins. All of these remarks are highly important.
"For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: For even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them." (Romans1:26-32 KJV)
And there are other scriptures which condemn the act of aborting a living infant. Read these verses written by the Psalmist and notice especially the third of the seven abominations that the Lord hates:
"A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth. He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers; Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord. Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy. These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren." (Proverbs 6:12-19)
Certainly there is no blood more innocent than that of an unborn child. Roe versus Wade is without a doubt, the most severe abandonment of the words of the almighty God, of any law this nation has ever embraced. It has not only legalized murder but has been instrumental in bringing a vast departure from godliness in this nation.
It is indeed amazing to see the number of people who advocate what they refer to as "pro-choice". They do not wish people to consider them pro-murder, although they most assuredly are such. Their argument that a fetus is not a human, is absurd. They have chosen to follow that route because they know that murder is unacceptable. The instant a female egg is joined by a male sperm, a new life is started. There is never anything more that alters the genes or the DNA within that microscopic being. And that life has a God given soul.
Those who consider the act of abortion as acceptable because of the Supreme Courts horrible mistake on January 22, 1973 when the Roe versus Wade law was legitimized may know that the act is only acceptable in the law of this nation, which does not change one whit of the laws already in effect by the Holy Bible. The previous biblical verses show that. And so far as the pathetic excuse that the fetus is not a living human as yet, there is ample proof that this is only stupidity. Since that law was passed, over 48,589,993 innocent babies have been murdered. The average number killed per year since that time amounts to 1,388,993. More willful murders than all of our military deaths in all wars we have fought since becoming a nation. And we close our hearts and minds towards these infants who deserved to live as much so as did their own mothers.
Any pregnant woman who is considering an abortion, should be given the ultimatum that she watch a film, entitled "The silent scream" which is a full length (30 min.) ultrasound film of an actual abortion. The narrator tells of the rather young physician who had been performing abortions for several years and had performed approximately 10,000 of them. He goes on to tell that the young man, after the abortion, was viewing the film and was so moved by it that he had to leave the room. He came back shortly and viewed the rest of it, but never performed another abortion. One of his assistants also never assisted in another abortion. It is an emotionally stimulating film. All who have an interest in this matter, whether pro or con, should view the film and they cannot help but realize that the fetus is indeed a living being and that it can assuredly feel pain.
Killing an unborn child is a serious moral infraction as it is a blatant sin according to the Bible. The mere fact that non-caring man can pass a law permitting it in society has nothing whatsoever to do with its being right or wrong. Each child has an eternal soul which will be in heaven, full grown, and which will stand as a witness for the physicians and mothers who robbed them of the chance to live a normal human life.
"But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God". (Luke 18:16 KJV)
