Are you the kind of person who pays attention to all those unique holidays like national donut day or toothache day? It seems that your odd fascination with these days will soon pay off. February 28th is National Pancake Day and IHOP is celebrating by offering a free short stack for everyone who comes in.
They started celebrating this holiday back in 2006 with the catch that each stack of pancakes is traded for a donation to support local charities. They've raised nearly 8 million so far and their goal this year is 2.7 million. Here's how it works; you stop by your local IHOP and tell them you want one of their free buttermilk pancake stacks. You are then asked to consider giving a donation to a local charity. Usually around Grand Rapids the charity is Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. That's it. There's no coupon required or age limit even. Just stop, eat and donate. So get the family ready to head over there on Tuesday. Hmmm...I'm thinking breakfast for dinner.
There are three local locations:
3796 Alpine Ave. NW
2071 E. Beltline Ave. NE
4767 Wilson Ave. SW
