Make an easy DIY floral necklace for spring using an unlikely craft supply.
This DIY necklace makes a great colorful spring accessory and only cost about $2 to make. It is inspired by Kate Spade's Gerbera Garden necklace, which cost nearly $300 and is no longer available.
The DIY necklace uses silk flowers, Mod Podge and nail polish or paint. Add a ribbon and you have a necklace.
You can pick up inexpensive artificial flowers at a thrift store or buy a bunch for only a dollar at any dollar store.
Remove the flowers from the stems. Line up the flowers in a shape you like and stitch the petals together with needle and thread. Coat with Mod Podge and allow to dry.
Paint the flowers and spray with gloss. Attach a ribbon.
