A little bit more than half (53%) of American employees say they are being paid the right amount of money for the work they're doing. That's up from 46% in 2008. More importantly, 31% of workers say they are completely satisfied with the amount of money they earn. That ties the highest level of satisfaction since Gallup's study began in 1989.
The unemployment rate is likely playing a major factor in the increased appreciation of today's salary. At roughly 9.5%, the unemployment rate is up more than three points from 2008. When you combine all the employees who say they are "somewhat" and "completely" satisfied, you're left with only 26% of workers who remain dissatisfied.
Although Americans are happy with their current salary, many worry that it won't last. About a quarter of employees are scared that they may be laid off or see a pay decrease in the near future. That's almost double the rate seen in 2008.
It's safe to say that people are happy to just have a job and aren't expecting large financial rewards. As a sign of the times, only 10% of the country say that now is a good time to find a quality job.

I'd reather believe a politician than a pollester
Obviously, there are some things wrong with this. First, 53% is strictly speaking a majority, but all polls have a margin of error of 5 to 10%. Secondly 31% actually said they are "completely satisfied", which is not even close to a majority. So the title of the article is misleading, and the body of the article suggests things might even be the complete opposite. Who wrote this, a high school student?
HAHAHAHA this is comedy! workers haven't been paid what they are worth since credit cards were invented. Sorry Mr. Coleman you need to carry out your analysis again!
May be what you got paid to write this made you happy.
BULLS__t!!!!! We have to support American workers rights! And increase wages NOW!
Got something to say?
