On Tuesday night, Joanie "Chyna" Laurer returned to wrestling after almost 9 years out of the wrestling spotlight. Laurer debuted for TNA at the tapings of their weekly show "Impact". The episode is set to air on Thursday May 12th, on Spike TV. However, on Thursday, TMZ revealed that Laurer has yet to sign an official contract with TNA. As of right now, Joanie is working on a "hand shake deal with a very, very short leash".
Laurer is scheduled to wrestle at the TNA "Sacrifice" PPV on Sunday, May 15th as the tag-team partner of Kurt Angle. Chyna, was revealed at the Impact tapings as Angle's mystery partner in his feud with Jeff and Karen Jarrett. Chyna also got involved in the night's main event which was a battle royal to determine the #1 contender for Sting's world title.
If the deal with TNA doesn't work out, TMZ has also reported that Chyna has received a 1 year offer to wrestle in Japan with Antonio Inoki's IGF promotion. With the huge buzz surrounding Laurer's return, it would be hard to imagine TNA not signing her to an official contract. Laurer is still a very popular wrestler with the fans and she would surely bring attention to TNA and the Knockouts division. In fact, Chyna could be the unstoppable force that TNA hasn't seen since Awesome Kong left the company under protest.
As for her former employer, the WWE and Vince McMahon are reportedly very upset over Laure joining TNA. For more on this story, continue reading on next page:
