Major League Gaming (MLG) Winter Championship starts today

Starcraft II fans will converge in Dallas, Tex. to watch the Major League Gaming (MLG) Winter Championship this weekend.

The event will feature Starcraft II, League of Legends and Call of Duty: Black Ops II tournaments. All Starcraft II matches will be played in the game's new expansion, Heart of the Swarm (HotS). There is a $75,000 prize pool for the HotS tournament; the winner will take home $25,000 of that pool.

Opening ceremonies for the event begin today at 5 p.m. CDT, with the first match starting at 5:30 p.m. The tournament is scheduled to end at 9 p.m. on Sunday. Those unable to attend the event can watch games online for free on the MLG website.
