It appears that the backstage issues for WWE's The Miz is more than just being in the dog house with management. Alberto Del Rio has a serious beef with The Miz that is not a creative storyline but a genuine disliking. According to a Friday February 10th report by 957TheGame.com, Del Rio made the following comments about The Miz:
" I hate The Miz. This is not part of the show. I really dislike that guy. I've tried to punch him in the face several times, not in the ring, I mean outside the ring. He's like a little girl. He's always running away from me...
Now it's not a surprise that two wrestlers don't like each other. Look no further than Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels. The two men hated each other for years. They were able to put aside differences for a while but it ultimately ended up creating one of the most controversial moments in WWE history the "Montreal Screwjob". Del Rio continued to expand on his dislike of The Miz:
There's a big difference between The Miz and I. I'm a real athlete. He's just a loud, stupid little kid. He's one of those guys who was probably bullied when he was in school and that's the reason now that he's so loud and he wants to get attention from everybody."
The surprise with Del Rio's comments is that backstage issues like this are genuinely kept in-house and not aired on the radio and then blasted all over the internet. These comments will definitely upset the WWE brass as they do not like the "dirty laundry" aired.
Del Rio has been a pro-wrestler almost his entire life as his family were big stars down in Mexico. He also dabbled in MMA, although it wasn't a tremendously successful experience. However, he does have the grounds to boast of his athletic endeavors where the Miz came into pro-wrestling due to his reality TV experiences on MTV. However, this shouldn't be anything new to The Miz as he's had problems with other wrestlers since he joined the WWE.
