Some of your favorite people or not so favorite people may be given life on the big screen soon. As it turns out, there are a number of bio-pics in the works. Well, at least that is the buzz anyway. Below is a short rundown of just a few:
Filming began in October 2013 regarding the story of Lance Armstrong. The disgraced pro cyclist’s former teammate Tyler Hamilton accused him (correctly and after repeated denials from Armstrong) of doping.
Warner Brothers is developing a project based on the bad and odd behavior of John McAffe, the anti-virus giant. McAfee, if you remember, was a prime suspect in the murder of a neighbor in Belize. He fled the island, was eventually captured and faked having a heart attack in order to buy time to file appeals. In 2012, he was released from detention and deported back to the U.S.
Rumblings of a Kurt Cobain biopic have been circulating for years now. However, keep your fingers crossed. It may actually happen. The grunge legend, who tragically committed suicide in 1994, would have been 47 if he was alive today.
Two Rock and Roll stars who tragically died a month apart in 1970 at approximately the same age were Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin. Hendrix’s biopic is set to release this year and Joplin’s film will hopefully soon follow. Here’s the rub. A Janis Joplin project has been on the books for quite some time already. Lee Daniels, the force behind ‘Precious’ and ‘The Butler’ is on it and has tagged actress Amy Adams to play the title role.
A Marvin Gaye project has finally gotten smoothed out after many entanglements. First Jesse Martin would play the lead role then Lenny Kravitz then a Gaye family member disapproved of the script or some sort of thing and now we’re back to Jesse Martin in what will be titled as ‘Sexual Healing.” However, not only will Martin play the lead, he will be reunited with his former ‘Law and Order’ co-star as well. S. Epatha Merkerson will play the part of his mother.
Whose life story would you like to see?
