Below are highlights of these six female actors discussing their roles with Entertainment Weekly’s moderator Nicole Sperling:

Natalie Dormer (“Game of Thrones” and “Rush”), “Where television is fantastic and is ahead of film is that it doesn’t feel the need to polarize women…We’re as complex and as contradictory as men.”

Maisie Williams (“Game of Thrones”) regarding her character Arya Stark, “I feel like every year you’re not sure if you’re coming back for another, and you want a nice closure for your character.”

Nicole Beharie (“Sleepy Hollow”), “In my career, I had played historical characters. I hadn’t really seen myself as playing an action character, and then once I found myself in the part, you have no other choice but to expand your possibilities …yourself.”

Tatiana Maslany (“Orphan Black”) about playing an adult, “I’ve always played 10 years my junior, and this was a nice way to move into a position of leadership as an actor and as a character. And the great thing about the show is that I get to explore all those insecurities that go along with that power.”

Sarah Paulson ("American Horror Story"), “I’m playing a woman with two heads, yes, I will be talking to myself a lot, and I will be alone talking to myself a lot. I can imagine it’s going to be a challenge.”

Katey Sagal ("Sons of Anarchy"), “As an actor, and for me, having come from comedy for so so so many years, I wanted to be challenged. Kind of the blessing and the curse of television is that you get to be really well known as one thing, and then it’s hard to step out. So I have been blessed and grateful to say that every episode I say, how am I going to do that.”

Tatiana Maslany also shared how she gets ready for her roles by listening to music. She explained, “A certain playlist will give me a different amount of emotions.”

Big thanks to Entertainment Weekly for hosting this rockstar panel again in Hall H. We need these female role models at the biggest comic book convention in the world. And to watch more of our Comic-Con videos, visit http://youtube.com/goodyawards
