The University of Maine women's basketball team traveled to Hartford for a rare Wednesday afternoon game.

The Black Bears outscored Hartford 10-6 in the final two minutes to earn a 60-56 America East victory.

Liz Wood and Ashleigh Roberts scored 13 points each for the Black Bears.

Wood also recorded six rebounds and four steals. Roberts pulled down nine rebounds.

Sophie Weckstrom scored 10 points and dished out three assists.

It is the first win for the University of Maine women against Hartford since 2004.

Maine is now 14-11 overall and 8-4 in the America East. The Black Bears have won four straight games.

With the win, the Black Bears took a 1.5 game lead over Hartford for the fourth spot in the conference.

Maine will host Albany at Cross Insurance Center on Sunday.

Albany is currently 12-0 in America East play.

The Black Bears also have games against UNH and Stony Brook left on the schedule. UNH is currently second in the conference, Stony Brook is third.
