The University of Maine women's soccer team opens up their season on Friday afternoon when they host Quinnipiac. The Black Bears will also play at home on Sunday afternoon when they host Bryant.

Maine finished the 2013 season with a 9-5-5 record. They reached the conference semifinals, losing to Stony Brook in penalty kicks.

Leading goal scorer, Eve L'Abbe (5), along with Jordan Pellerin (4), and Charlene Achille (4) are just a few of the returning players who will be back this season.

Junior Lauren Swant returns as goalie for the Black Bears. Swant led a tough defense that allowed only 0.89 goals per game in 2013.

The conference season will begin on September 28th when Maine travels to Binghamton.

The Black Bears field hockey team will open the season next weekend with two games in Michigan (Central Michigan and Michigan State).

Maine football will begin on August 30th when they host Norfolk State.
