Maine women's basketball team loses 13th straight game

The Boston University Terriers women's basketball team went on a 13-0 run in the first half and cruised to an 85-54 victory over the University of Maine Black Bears on Wednesday evening.

Maine (1-16/0-4) defeated UNLV 74-67 on November 17th.

The Black Bears have lost 13 straight since that game.

Liz Wood recorded 14 points,10 rebounds, two assists and two steals to lead the Black Bears.

Ashleigh Roberts chipped in with 10 points, four rebounds and three assists. Danielle Walczak recorded nine points and three assists.

Sophie Weckstrom came off the bench to score seven points.

Roberts is averaging 9.6 points per game on the season to lead the Black Bears. Walczak is averaging 9.4 ppg.

Maine will look to get their first conference win on Sunday, January 20th when they host Binghamton. The game can be seen live at 2 p.m. on WABI channel 5 out of Bangor.

Chantell Alford led Boston University with 21 points. Whitney Turner and Mo Moran scored 13 points each for the Terriers who have now won 12 straight games.

Boston University (15-3/5-0) will next play on Saturday, January 19th when they travel to the University of New Hampshire.

The University of Maine men's basketball team will look to improve their 5-1 home record when they host Binghamton on Saturday, January 19th at 2 p.m.
