Maine to face Stony Brook in men's quarterfinal game

The University of Maine men's basketball team held a lead against Stony Brook when they met at last week.

The Black Bears ended up falling 83-79.

Maine will get another chance when they face the second seeded Seawolves in an America East quarterfinal game.on Saturday at 6 p.m.

The Black Bears secured the seventh seed when they defeated UNH 73-69 at Cross Insurance Center on Sunday afternoon.

Maine (6-22/4-12) had five players finish in double figures in their victory over the Wildcats.

Xavier Pollard is averaging 14.4 points per game, 4.4 rebounds per game, and 4.0 assists per game to lead the Black Bears.

Vermont won the regular season conference championship by winning their final 10 games.

UNH will face the Catamounts in the quarterfinals.

UMass-Lowell finished 8-8 in conference play and fifth in the final regular season standings. They are not eligible for postseason play in their first year as a division one team.
