Maine picks up huge conference win over Vermont

Alasdair Fraser recorded 20 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists to lead the University of Maine men's basketball team to a 71-68 victory over Vermont on Tuesday evening.

The Black Bears bounced back with an impressive performance against the Catamounts after a very disappointing showing in a 57-56 loss to Binghamton on Saturday.

Justin Edwards scored 22 points for the Black Bears. Zarko Valijerevic added 13 points. Mike Allison chipped in with six points and a game high 11 rebounds.

Maine (8-11) improved to 3-3 in the conference. The Black Bears will travel to Stony Brook for another tough conference game on Saturday, January 26th.

Maine will play three of their next four games on the road.
