Maine men's basketball drop afternoon contest to Hartford

The University of Maine men's basketball team dropped a 69-61 decision to the Hartford Hawks on Wednesday afternoon at West Hartford, Connecticut.

Jon Mesghna and Justin Edwards scored 17 points each in a losing effort for the Black Bears.

Alasdair Fraser chipped in with 16 points and seven rebounds. Edwards also dished out seven assists.

Mike Allison pulled down 10 rebounds for the Black Bears.

Maine (7-9/2-1) will try to get back on the winning track when they travel to Albany for an America East battle scheduled for Saturday, January 12th at 7:30 p.m.

Mark Nwakamma led the Hawks with 23 points, eight assists and seven rebounds.
