Murfreesboro Main Street's 16th annual Jazzfest arrives May 4th and 5th, Friday and Saturday, and the line up of musicians making their way to the stage is phenomenal! For two days a year, Murfreesboro's Main Street Square comes alive with live jazz music, food, and fun family activities for all!

Friday night, get ready to hear some of the up and coming jazz musicians from high schools across Rutherford County. On Saturday, two stages will be blasting smooth notes from 11:00 AM until after 7:00 PM. But don't go home after that! This year, check out Jazzfest After Dark. The local bars on the square will be providing even more music and celebration.

As always, this is a free event and ALL are welcome!

Bring the kids down Kids Alley on Saturday from noon until 6:00 PM. There will be a rock wall, hands on art projects, mini manicures, inflatables, martial arts demonstrations, and much more. All of these activities are free as well!

Walking around the square all day, with contemporary live jazz buzzing all around you, is good for the soul. But you also need to pamper your stomach. Check out all the food vendors that will be making their way to the square. Polish sausages, roasted corn, chocolate strawberries, funnel cakes, ice cream, and cotton candy are just a small sample of the mouth pleasing fare that awaits you!

A full list of activities for Jazzfest 2012 can be found here.

The local businesses around the square will be open on both days as well. So show some love to some of your favorite stores and merchants on Main Street while you're there!
