Main Street Players auditioning for two Christmas shows

Over in Belvidere, the Main Street Players are gearing up for auditions for their two upcoming holiday season productions. These shows will kick off their 2014-2015 season of shows.

Their first production will be Miracle on 34th Street, a classic Christmastime story about a jolly old man who may or may not be the real Santa Claus, and the impact he has on the store that employs him, the mother and daughter who befriend him, and even the justice system that puts him on trial. The auditions for the show will be held tonight (August 25th) and tomorrow (August 26th) at 7 p.m. both nights. The show's performances will be November 7th through 16th.

Also on the MSP docket this holiday season will be a radio show-style performance of another well-known Christmas classic, It's a Wonderful Life. Presented as a fundraiser, this show will follow the story of George Bailey and his journey toward redemption on Christmas night with help from a heavenly spirit, made so familiar by the Frank Capra film of the same name. Auditions for this show will be Sunday, September 7th at 5 p.m. There will be two performances on December 20th.

All auditions and performances will be held at Belvidere's Community Building Complex. For more information, give a visit to their website, call them at 800-741-2963, or send e-mail to info@mainstreetplayersofboonecounty.com.
