Email marketing is key to retaining and attracting customers, but so few small businesses and entrepreneurs can afford the costs for enterprise-level systems. Mailigen has entered the market with a free offering for small business that lets them send emails to a list of up to 5,000 subscribers. Announced today, February 25, 2013, Mailigen's Epic Free offering is geared toward startups, small and medium companies, business incubators, accelerators, individual bloggers, group buying sites, app development companies and other small enterprises.
The Epic Free account allows marketers to send and track email messages that are sent to contact lists. Each list is built using a Mailigen sign-up form and stored in the Mailigen interface. Epic Free offers the same standard email marketing features for databases of up to 5,000 contacts as Mailigen's paid product. This includes surveys, tracking, social media integration and free drag and drop templates, according to Mailigen's website.
"Start-ups for sure could take advantage of this as could many smaller non-profits and charities. As well, collecting a double opt-in database from the very beginning can help by having a cleaner list, less bad email addresses, wrong addresses and less spam complaints early on,” said Chris Donald, email marketing expert and CEO/strategist at Inbox Group, in a prepared statement.
