Mai-Thy Ta was crowned Miss Flint Hills 2013 on Feb. 10, according to the Emporia Gazette.
Ta, 20, will now compete in the Miss Kansas Pageant. The winner of the Miss Kansas Pageant will represent her state at the Miss America pageant.
"I keep looking at all these pictures from last night," she wrote Monday on Twitter, "but it still feels like a dream. What a huge blessing!"
"I'm on a journey, with a suitcase of outrageous blessings," she wrote on her Twitter profile. "I travel to find truth, beauty, and quiet joy. I'm a performer, a pre-med major, an adventurer."
She is a pageant veteran, who won the Spirit Award, First Runner-up Best Resume Award and Second Runner-up Talent Award at the 2010 National American Miss Kansas Pageant.
She reigned as Miss Kansas Teen Asian 2011 and Miss Kansas Teen USA Ambassador 2011.
Her platform for the Miss Kansas Pageant is “Embracing Diversity: Taking a Stand.” Her pageant talent is as a vocalist.
She is a graduate of Augusta High School in Augusta, Kan.
