Mahlon Dickerson 1770-1853
The largest park in the Morris County Park System, with over 20 miles of trails on 3200 acres. This is a little known treasure, hidden between Weldon Brook WMA and Rockaway River WMA, if you want solitude you are sure to find it.
There are four trails, Morris County graciously provides trails maps in three formats online. This reservation has swamp and Morris County's highest point. Good shoes are a must, trails can be wet and you may have to cross a stream at some point.
Named after Morris County's Mahlon Dickerson; a former Governor of New Jersey, United States Senator and Secretary of the Navy graduated from the College of New Jersey (now Princeton University) in 1789.
