Liberals are often criticized for hating on Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann, but as Bill Maher said on his show on Friday, its not because they are women, its because "they are crazy".
While yes, many are probably guilty for attacking them more than others because of their status as women in this male dominated political sphere, Bachmann has said something that makes her a leader in the pack of wackos running for office, male and female.
As Maher pointed out, Bachmann says that she went to get her tax law degree because her husband told her to. She even went on to quote the Bible in her defense.
"The Lord says be submissive. Wives, you are to be submissive to your husbands.”
Heaven knows why this particular incident is not being given more coverage. To many (anyone sane) this should be seen as far more disturbing than her claims about climate change being a hoax and the EPA being a job killing organization.
Although this was said in October 2006, its doubtful that her beliefs have changed since. After all, she recently signed The Family Leader's pledge, which of course lets everyone know that you are serious about your archaic, sexist, ignorant, gay hating and islamaphobic beliefs.
The real tragedy here is that this kind of opinion isn't all that rare in America. Pastor Rick Warren, author of the Christian mega-hit The Purpose Driven Life and whom spoke at Obama's inaugaration, has also expressed his belief in this exact doctrine.
It's funny how these people hate Sharia law. Not the correct way to oppress women one must presume......
