Are you ready for the Magness Medieval Adventure? Magness Camp is ready for you. This is a great family opportunity to camp at one of the most beautiful sites in Colorado. The Denver Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America owns this wonderful site called Peaceful Valley is located about 11 miles south of Kiowa, CO.
Often time camping at Magness Camp, part of Peaceful Valley, is a Cub Scout’s first experience sleeping under canvas. It is a great place for Mom and Dad to try out camping too. Canvas covered platforms have beds; you bring the sleeping bag or whatever bedding you choose. Meals are included and bound to please all. You can contact the Boy Scout office about special dietary concerns.
Cub Scouts are joined by their parents and siblings for an adventure. The fun includes Crafts, Waterfront activities and BB gun shooting. You might find that your son is the next Archer extraordinaire! There are games, fishing and time to spend with new friends. The campfire is always fun you never know what is coming next. Be sure to say ‘Hi’ to the Gypsy for me.
The fun never stops at Camp Magness. There is always something new to explore and new friends to make. Weather does not stop the fun either, it just rearranged it sometimes. This is a great opportunity to show your son what terrific opportunities await him in Scouting.
Have you been to Magness as a Cub Scout but now you are a Webelos? There is an exciting program for you that includes a venture up to the Mesa. There you will find activities designed just for you,
Bring the whole family or make this a special parent-child time. You can bring your pack or den with you or enjoy this as a family activity. A sturdy pair of sneakers or boots will make life more enjoyable. Bring your refillable water bottle, hat and sunscreen too. Your camera will capture memories for a lifetime and you will leave Magness Camp with a head full of new silly camp songs to brighten your world!
Before you know it your time at Peaceful Valley is done and you will be heading home. Peaceful Valley is one of those places that will capture your heart and will await your return.
