Magic: The Gathering sponsors PvP

Magic: The Gathering will be sponsoring one of the most recognizable and popular gaming webcomics to date, Scott Kurtz’s PvP.  Games of all kinds have floated through Kurtz’s strip through the years, and now Magic: The Gathering and Wizards of the Coast have actually entered into a sponsorship agreement with the notable title for this quarter.

What can players expect?  Probably plenty of the strip’s popular characters engaged in Magic: The Gathering, naturally.

Don’t be surprised if PvP ends up containing spoilers, previews, events, and other Magic: The Gathering related topics, along with jokes about how big Skull’s Eldrazi is.  The big question on everyone’s mind with this pairing – Did Scott Kurtz “sell out”?

Scott explains in great detail the reasoning behind the decision to pair up with Wizards of the Coast and Magic: The Gathering in today’s post - Both Magic: The Gathering and PvP fans would be wise to read it in its entirety before passing any judgment.

Personal Comment: This relationship will likely be too awesome to describe using earthly language.  As a long time PvP fan, I welcome our new PvP integrated marketing overlords.
