You can almost smell the espresso on Main Street USA, where the Magic Kingdom's classic Main Street Bakery will close its doors today to begins its transformation into the first of a new breed of theme park Starbucks locations slated to open this year at Walt Disney World. According to the Disney Parks Blog, the refurbished Main Street Bakery will open early this summer.
While some Disney purists balk at the encroachment of the Starbucks franchise into the Disney Parks, coffee lovers will welcome the addition of premium coffee drinks. The next Disney World park to open a Starbucks location will be Epcot, whose Fountain View restaurant will close in March and open midsummer.
The Fountain View is ideally located for guests to pick up a latte on the way to the parking lot after a long day at the parks. New Starbucks locations are also planned for Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom.
