Magic Johnson $1M offer for LeBron James to compete in dunk contest

A Magic Johnson $1 million offer has been made for LeBron James to join the NBA dunk contest. The New York Times reported on March 2 that Johnson will boost the prize money for the contest just to get King James involved.

LeBron James has never taken part in the slam dunk competition at the NBA All-Star weekend, and Magic Johnson would like to see what the superstar could accomplish if he did take part. Johnson has offered to raise the prize money from the $100,000 the winner receiver to a cool $1 million to the winner.

Even if LeBron doesn't win the contest, the winner would still get the $1 million prize money.

The reason for the Magic Johnson $1 million offer was because the NBA legend was watching LeBron James slamming home some impressive dunks in warm-ups before Miami Heat games this season.

After seeing the dunks, Magic put his money where his mouth was and begged LeBron James to take part in the annual slam dunk competition.

Terrence Ross won the 2013 slam dunk competition and Blake Griffin won the contest last year.
