Details regarding the Magic Celebration event happening on September 10 have been revealed by the enigmatic Monty Ashley over at the official Magic: The Gathering site. Since the event was announced with the rest of the M12 prerelease and release parties, players have wondered just what the mysterious Magic Celebration was going to be.
It’s Mini-Master! The format that starts as a random journey of discovery and awe and turns into a skill building adventure as more packs are added to each pool. The details don’t state whether it will be single elimination, swiss, or some other format, but there are some other things going on during the day as well. (Since the event is apparently free, it’s probably single elimination).
First, there’s Magic: The Gathering t-shirts for the first four players to pick up a Deckbuilder’s Toolkit (Great for new players or gifts for friends you’re trying to get into Magic). Supplies and participation may vary, so it’s best to call ahead if you’re really looking to bolster your MTG wardrobe.
Last but not least, Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 digital code items will be available at the event, offering unique additions to your DOTP 2012 that can only be acquired at the Magic Celebration. Again, supplies/participation may vary and you’ll need DOTP 2012 to take advantage of the code.
